ETU Motor Works & Studio, based in Gurgaon, is not a routine repair shop. They work on luxury and performance vehicles PPF applications, precision paint work, ceramic detailing, mechanical tuning, performance upgrades, and custom audio installations. Their clients care deeply about their cars. The workshop had the skill and the clientele. What it lacked was a brand that could match both.

The visual identity they were operating with had three compounding problems: a logo that did not scale or reproduce well across different surfaces, no consistency between their online presence and their physical space, and no documented guidelines for partners or vendors to follow. For a studio positioning itself around precision and craftsmanship, the gap between what they delivered in the workshop and what they projected as a brand was significant.

They came to us to close that gap entirely.

What We Were Solving

Before we opened a single design file, we spent time understanding what ETU actually is not just what services they offer, but the standard they hold themselves to. Their brand mission, as we defined it together through discovery, was clear: to deliver world-class automotive detailing and mechanical solutions that elevate every luxury vehicle to its peak performance and aesthetic perfection.

That sentence carries two ideas in tension performance engineering and luxury refinement. A workshop logo that leans too hard on aggression reads like a tyre shop. One that leans too far into luxury reads like a salon. The ETU brand had to hold both, without collapsing into either cliché.

The core problem was not just visual. It was strategic: ETU needed a brand system not just a logo that could travel across business cards, workshop uniforms, vehicle signage, digital assets, and in-space branding, and still read as one coherent identity.

Our Process

We ran the project through our full brand discovery sequence.

In the first phase, we mapped the brand through structured discovery sessions understanding the founders’ vision, the customer profile (luxury and sports car owners in Gurgaon and NCR), the competitive landscape, and the tone they wanted to project. Confidently refined. Precise and professional on the engineering side. Sleek and premium on the detailing side.

From discovery, we moved into mind mapping organising the brand’s core values (precision, craftsmanship, integrity, innovation, customer experience) into visual territories. What shapes, what energy, what colour language would carry these values without being derivative of every other automotive brand using a tyre-and-wrench mark?

Sketching came next. We explored multiple directions before identifying the concept that would become the ETU monogram a three-letter mark built with deliberate symbolism at every point.

The Logo: What We Built and Why

The final ETU logomark is a custom monogram where every element carries meaning.

The ‘E’ is constructed with horizontal speed lines a direct reference to motion and precision engineering. It does not look like a generic sans-serif letter; it reads as engineered.

A bold orange bar bridges the top of the ‘E’ and the ‘T’, creating a visual connection that communicates synergy between the studio’s two core offerings mechanical performance and aesthetic detailing. The orange (#F57F35) was chosen with intent: it is the colour of high-performance automotive culture, warm enough to feel premium, energetic enough to signal performance.

The ‘U’ is built as a triangle a form that communicates stability and a strong foundation. Read carefully, the triangle also carries the letterforms ‘A’ and ‘V’ embedded within it, adding a layer of craft that rewards close attention.

The wordmark beneath uses italic lettering for ‘MOTOR WORKS & STUDIO’ the italic angle reinforces momentum paired with the tagline Performance With Perfection in spaced capitals.

The primary colour palette is charcoal (#515251) and performance orange (#F57F35), with pure white and black as supporting tones. The typography system uses Gotham for headlines and environmental design robust, legible, authoritative and Proxima Nova for body and digital applications.

Beyond the Logo: The Full Brand System

A mark is only as valuable as the system around it. We delivered the complete identity:

  • Brand guidelines A full brand style guide documenting the logo concept and construction logic, primary and secondary colour values (HEX, RGB, CMYK), typography hierarchy, clearance rules, and a detailed ‘what to avoid’ section with visual examples.
  • Corporate identity Business cards designed on a matte black substrate with the white and orange mark an immediate signal of premium positioning, consistent with the vehicles ETU services.
  • In-space branding The identity was applied across the physical workshop environment, ensuring the brand is present and coherent from the moment a client walks in.
  • Merchandise and apparel The logomark was adapted for embroidered caps and printed workshop t-shirts, extending the brand to the team and building visible consistency across every customer touchpoint.
