Most travel brands look like each other

Open any logo marketplace and search for a travel logo. You will get the same three ingredients over and over: an aeroplane, a globe or a swoosh, and a blue gradient. Sometimes a suitcase. Sometimes a palm tree. The templates are cheap, they are everywhere, and they are the reason so many travel businesses are invisible next to each other.

This matters more in travel than in most categories, because travel is a trust purchase made in advance. A customer pays before they receive anything. A wholesale agency commits volume to a supplier it may never meet in person. A conference organiser signs off on a destination programme worth lakhs on the strength of a proposal document. In every one of those moments, the brand is doing the work of a handshake.

When a travel brand looks like a template, buyers assume the service is a template too. Then the only remaining conversation is price. We have watched this happento good operators with genuinely better itineraries than their competitors.

Three travel brands we have built

GMTC
01
GMTC

ONE BRAND, TWO COUNTRIES, TWO DOMAINS

GMTC stands for Group MICE and Travel Company. It serves wholesale travel agencies and conference organisers across Malaysia and Australia, running an office at Innovation House in MRANTI Park, Kuala Lumpur and another at Nexus Norwest in Baulkham Hills, New South Wales. Two markets, two websites, two sets of contact details, and one identity that had to hold together across all of it.

This was a redesign rather than a first brand. We rebuilt the mark as a geometric G constructed by subtraction on a 2×2 grid, so the letterform emerges from structure rather than decoration a deliberate reference to how a MICE operator actually earns trust, through organisation rather than flourish. The wordmark is set in Proxima Nova Bold. Vertical and horizontal lockups are both spaced on a 1.618 ratio so the mark holds proportion whether it sits on a business card or a conference backdrop. The tagline, Your Trusted Travel Partner, is set in Nunito to soften a system that is otherwise quite structural.

The two-country problem showed up most sharply on the business card, which carries a Malaysian block and an Australian block on one face without either looking like an afterthought. We delivered the logo redesign, letterhead, business card, envelope, email signature, brand style guidelines, an intro video and the website.

OPENSKY VOYAGES

OPENSKY VOYAGES

A LUXURY TRAVEL BRAND WITH A WRITTEN PERSONALITY

OpenSky Voyages is a premium travel company serving high-income individuals, ultra-high-net-worth clients and corporates across flights, hotels, visas, transfers, tours, cruises and insurance. The business sells research-led itineraries, and the brand had to signal that before a single conversation. We defined the brand personality as Competence: refined rather than flashy, curated rather than generic, reliable and expert rather than playful. That is not a mood board line it is a working rule that decides copy. The style guide carries a worked example so the client's own team can apply it without us in the room:

Instead of "Book your dream holiday with us!" the brand says "Every detail considered. Every journey curated around you."

The identity works from a circular mark: blue upper segments read as open sky, the lower geometry carries an inverted triangle, the classical symbol for water, so the mark covers air and sea travel without illustrating either literally. The circle itself stands for a complete, end-to-end journey. The logotype is a high-contrast serif with widely tracked VOYAGES beneath it. We built the system out to signage, stationery, folders and large-format airport placements, where a serif at that scale doesthe job a sans-serif cannot.

WHITE TRAILS

WHITE TRAILS

ELEGANCE WITH PURPOSE, FROM NOIDA

White Trails is a premium travel consulting company based in Noida, specialising in international destinations and holiday packages, headed by industry veterans with over 35 years of collective experience. The business is now extending into high-stakes corporate events brand launches, leadership retreats and team building programmes, from planning through to execution.

That extension was the brief's real problem. A brand that reads purely as leisure travel will not be trusted with a leadership retreat. We set the personality as Elegance with Purpose calm, precise, understated, discerning, speaking with the quiet authority of a consultant rather than the enthusiasm of a salesperson. Againthe guide carries the rule in worked form: not "We are super excited to offer you the most amazing, ultra-luxurious vacation ever," but "We design tailored itinerariesthat provide absolute comfort and seamless transitions."

The mark is a bold geometric W acting as a container, with an abstract aeroplane emerging from its centre and a path cut in negative space the white trail the company is named for. The palette runs Dark Forest against Mint with a Muted Terracotta accent, and the guide fixes a 60-30-10 application rule so the brand behaves consistently whether it appears on a proposal PDF, a website or an illuminated signboard.

What a travel branding project includes

Scope varies by business, but a full travel brand identity from us usually covers:

01

Positioning and personality

who the brand is for, who it is not for, and the personality that decides every later choice.

02

Logo system

primary mark, icon, wordmark, vertical and horizontal lockups, tagline lockup, clearance and minimum-size rules.

03

Colour system

primary and secondary palettes with HEX, RGB and CMYK values, plus an application rule so the ratios stay right in real use.

04

Typography

logo font, heading font and body font, with defined applications across print, web and environmental use.

05

Tone of voice

written with before-and-after examples the client's team can apply without us.

06

Brand style guide

the full document, including a what-to-avoid section so the identity survives contact with third-party vendors.

07

Stationery and collatera

business cards, letterhead, envelopes, email signature, folders, proposal and itinerary templates.

08

Environmental and signage design

office signboards, standees, exhibition and travel-mart stands, large-format placements.

09

Website design and developmen

WordPress or Shopify, built on the identity rather than bolted onto it.

10

Intro video and launch assets

where the brand needs to introduce itself at a trade show or on a sales call.

Our Process

How we work

01

Discovery

We start with the commercial problem, not the visual one. Who buys from you, what they compare you against, and what the brand has to make them believe before they will pay in advance.

02

Positioning and personality.

A short written definition of the brand's character, agreed before any design begins. This is the document everything else gets checked against.

03

Identity design.

Concepts developed with the reasoning attached — why this construction, why this palette, why this typeface. Four revisions per concept are included.

04

Brand style guide.

The rules written down properly, so the brand still holds in six months when a printer, a media agency and an in-house intern are all producing work.

05

Rollout.

Stationery, signage, website, video, and whatever else the business actually uses. Turnaround on a logo package is one to three weeks; a full identity system runs longer depending on scope.

Who we work with in travel.

01

B2B and wholesale travel companies

selling to other agencies rather than to travellers.

02

MICE operators and conference organisers

who need a brand that survives a procurement conversation.

03

Tour operators and destination management companies

building recognition beyond the OTA listing.

04

Travel consultancies and concierge businesses

serving HNI, UHNI and corporate clients.

05

Travel startups

launching with one shot at a first impression.

06

Hospitality and stay businesses

hotels, resorts, homestays and boutique properties. Adjacent to our travel work rather than the bulk of it, and we will say so honestly on a call.

What travel branding costs

Logo design packages start at ₹20,000. If you need a full travel brand identity positioning, logo system, colour, typography, tone of voice, style guide and core collateral, reach out to us. Every project includes three concepts and upto four revisions, full copyright transfer, open-source working files and a brand guidelines document. You own the brand outright when we hand it over. We put that in writing.

Working with travel businesses across India and beyond

We work from three offices Sector 81 in Faridabad, ILD Trade Center in Sector 47 Gurgaon, and Asola Extension in New Delhi — and we serve travel businesses across Delhi NCR and PAN India. White Trails is in Noida, roughly an hour from our Gurgaon office. GMTC operates across Kuala Lumpur and Sydney and we ran that project remotely across both markets, which is now a normal way for us to work.

Frequently Asked Questions..

A travel branding agency builds the identity a travel business is recognised and trusted by its positioning, name, logo system, colours, typography, tone of voice and the brand guide that keeps all of it consistent. It is not the same as travel marketing or travel portal development. Marketing drives enquiries to the brand; portal development builds the booking engine. Branding decides what a customer believes about you before either of those has a chance to work.

A travel website is one place the brand appears. Branding is the system that decides how it appears there and everywhere else on a proposal PDF sent to a conference organiser, a stand at a travel mart, a signboard, an invoice and an Instagram grid. Most travel businesses buy the website first and end up with a site that looks nothing like their brochure. We build the system, then the site sits on top of it. We also build travel websites in WordPress and Shopify.

A logo design package runs one to three weeks. A full travel brand identity including positioning, logo system, colour, typography, tone of voice, style guide and core collateral takes longer and depends on scope, the number of markets involved and how many stakeholders are part of the approval process. A single-market travel consultancy generally moves faster than a brand operating across multiple countries and markets.

Our logo design packages start at ₹20,000. A full travel brand identity depends upon scope rather than category: what all you need branding, how many lockups and applications you need, whether corporate identity, marketing material and signage are included, whether there is a website, and how many markets the brand has to work in. We quote against a written scope, not a fixed rate card.

Yes. We work with travel businesses across Delhi NCR, PAN India and internationally. Our work can be handled remotely, making it possible to build and manage brand systems across different countries, markets and locations.

Not necessarily. The question worth asking is not whether you have a logo, but whether your brand still matches what you sell. If your business has changed and your brand has not, that may be the case for a rebrand. If the identity still works, a refresh of the applications or visual system may be enough. We assess what needs to change before recommending a full rebrand.

Our brand style guides cover the brand description, mission, core values, tone of voice with worked examples, logo concept and construction, logotype rationale, lockups, clearance rules, logo variations, primary and secondary colour palettes with HEX, RGB and CMYK values, a what-to-avoid section, and full typography specifications for print, web and environmental use. The goal is to give your team, printer, media agency or new hire everything needed to produce consistent on-brand work.

A freelancer can be the right choice when you need one specific artefact, such as a logo, brochure or set of social templates. A branding agency is useful when the identity needs to work across many surfaces and over several years from a website and proposal deck to a signboard, travel mart stand or marketing campaign. Travel brands often have many customer touchpoints, so having one consistent brand system can make a significant difference.

You do. Every project includes full copyright transfer, open-source working files and the brand guidelines document. We provide the transfer in writing so there is no ambiguity later about ownership of the logo, identity assets and final brand files.
